NLMD respects the privacy of all users. We will always endeavour to meet the specific principles and the intent of the Data Protection Act.
We will always endeavour to maintain the confidentiality of the information you provide us and we will never sell your information or provide it to a third party without your written permission, with the exception of assisting regulatory authorities to whom we may be obliged to provide information by law.
You have a right to view and to correct information we hold about you.
You have a right to make a complaint if you are not satisfied that NLMD-LT has protected your privacy and NLMD-LT will provide you with assistance
One of the key functions of NLMD-LT is to assist in the management of an emergency if an outbreak of an exotic disease occurs. In this case it may be impractical for NLMD-LT to contact users prior to allowing regulatory authorities to access NLMD-LT information to support a rapid response to the emergency.
We cannot tell you what your password is because it is encrypted on our system. If you forget the password, we will ask you the special question you entered when you applied for an account. You must provide us with the correct answer (that you also gave us when you applied for an account). We will Email you a temporary password that you must change immediately to continue to use the database.
Only registered account holders may use the system. When you log into the system, we log and track every session and every request and transaction you make to ensure that your data are carefully maintained and kept confidential. To do this we need to place a cookie on your PC. A cookie is a small file which serves as a means of identifying you to us and providing you (and no-one else) with your correct services and information. We will not collect any information from you without your knowledge and agreement.
